Message from Vice Chairman Henry Stifel- "You did it, Dad. We all did it."

Earlier this month, I spoke about my involvement with the Reeve Foundation which dates back to 1982 when I was first injured and my family took action. I am truly humbled by your response to my story with messages of hope and generous donations that will have an immediate impact on our mission.

There are moments in life that change you. For me, it happened a few years ago in an empty basketball gymnasium at Monmouth College when I saw Rob Summers stand. For the first time in my life, I saw a man who was completely paralyzed regain the ability to voluntarily move. That single moment represented all that we have accomplished over the past three decades as a community along with the Reeve Foundation’s persistence and leadership.

During that time my father was in hospice care. I was able to show him video proof of a man conquering paralysis. And, I was able to say, "You did it, Dad. We all did it." My father had the opportunity to see the beginning of the future -- our future -- and the life-changing accomplishments yet to be achieved.

My father had the opportunity to see the beginning of the future -- our future -- and the life-changing accomplishments yet to be achieved.

Now we have multiple studies being conducted around the world in which individuals living with both complete and incomplete spinal cord injuries are standing and stepping thanks to our efforts to accelerate epidural stimulation from the lab to the community.

I'm proud to be associated with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Every day this organization is working tirelessly to change lives and create a brighter future for all individuals living with paralysis. That is why I am matching all online gifts until December 31 to help the Reeve Foundation reach its year-end goal of $50,000.

Your online tax-deductible donation of $50, $75, or $100 will help us achieve our promise of treatments and therapies for paralysis in a matter of years, not decades.

Let's make 2019 a year we won’t forget.

Sincerely,
Henry Stifel
