Prevent skin issues and pressure injuries

Every year our Information Specialists receive a lot of questions about skin care and pressure injuries. The limitation of blood flow and mobility while living with paralysis can cause skin breakdown which can lead to painful pressure sores, infections, and other devastating complications.

To help treat and prevent pressure injuries, download our health booklet which goes in depth about different options when it comes to treating your skin.

We also have a video series on our YouTube channel living you more information on other health complications that arise from living with paralysis. Also, feel free to leave a question for our community nurse Linda Schultz in our online community forum or monthly webcasts.

All of these resources are free and available to download from our website.

The National Paralysis Resource Center website is supported by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $8,700,000 with 100 percent funding by ACL/HHS.
