Why did you become a peer mentor? I am so grateful to the men that made themselves available to help me through a confusing time when newly injured. I got to see what living post injury can look like in terms of maximizing quality of life. Through these men’s experience, I was able to learn to be more solution oriented and to see level of living for people with spinal cord injuries that I never knew was possible. I hope to be able to do the same for someone who has any questions about how to navigate a spinal cord injury or is looking for resources that may be able to help them improve their quality of life.
