Why did you become a peer mentor? When I was hurt, I was fortunate to have access to medical help and resources for every question I had regarding my injury. After being around other people with disabilities, I realized not everyone had the same ability to get their questions answered, so I made it my personal mission to reach out to as many people as I could and help them make the most of their new life. I became a mentor because it gave me a way to help even more people. I strongly believe that families and other caregivers of injured people should know what to face and how to help someone while still encouraging independence.
