Why did you become a peer mentor? They say it takes a village to raise a child. I believe the same is true when undergoing as major a life change as one experiences with a spinal cord injury. I’m six years post injury and a medical student now, only thanks to the encouragement and support I received from the first day of recovery onward. There are obstacles in our path, but every problem can have a solution when you have more than one hand helping out.
