Why did you become a peer mentor? My MS progressed quickly, from diagnosis to quadriplegia in 18 months (I have since plateaued). I could have used a peer mentor during that time! I met a Reeve peer mentor during outpatient physical therapy at the local rehab hospital. He talked me into trying adaptive sports, which opened social opportunities that I had not been aware of and showed me that I could still travel. I realized that I had a lot to offer to help others as a peer mentor, a retired physician and a veteran.
