Why did you become a peer mentor? I know how valuable and comforting it is to have someone to talk to who is in a similar situation. If you have no one to talk with after your injury, especially in the beginning stages, it can be an incredibly rough experience. I became a mentor to offer myself as a resource and friend to talk to, laugh with, cry with, or whatever someone needs to better cope. I love sharing my story with others, inspiring them to make the most of what seems like an impossible new life and encouraging them to follow their dreams. My mindset is that anything is possible if you really truly want it.
