Why did you become a peer mentor? I became a peer mentor because there is a lot to learn about living with a spinal cord injury, and it helps to have someone to talk to that is in a similar situation. My husband, who lives with paraplegia, and I are about 15 years post injury and I’d like to think we have learned enough to be helpful to others. Every injury and every journey is a little bit different, but I think it’s good to make connections along the way.
