Lakeshore Foundation
Multi Media Room
4000 Ridgeway Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35209
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) are collaborating to bring Regional Advocacy Trainings to your community!
The Regional Advocacy Training will deliver vital information, gain access to resources, and connections to areas where knowledge about paralysis, muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases may be limited.
This event will feature a presentation combined with discussion opportunities, designed to empower individuals, families, and caregivers to learn, share, and use their own voice to take action.
Training Topics:
- Introduction to the Organizations and Resources: Attendees will learn about each organization and the communities they support including free resources and services from the Reeve Foundation’s National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) and MDA’s national network of support.
- Shared Advocacy Priorities & Grassroots Advocacy Toolkit: Learn about the shared disability policy priorities between both organizations and get an in depth look at a step-by-step guide on how anyone can be an advocate, which includes practical tips for sharing your story, building relationships with elected officials, and taking action locally.
- Gain valuable insight into both the Reeve Foundation and MDA’s advocacy programs.
