Why did you become a peer mentor?
I have received a lot of support through the Internet from other quadriplegics which has made a huge impact on my life. I want to help others who are experiencing our unique way of life in any way I can. Since my accident, I have worked at an independent living center helping others with all kinds of disabilities, including peer mentoring. I have received a bachelor’s degree in human services with a concentration in psychology and would like to be an official counselor one day.
