Why did you become a peer mentor?
I want to share my story and recovery experiences with others who are likely going through a lot of similar situations. I’d like to offer people hope and motivation to continue to set goals for themselves and to keep trying to push their limits with their recoveries. It never hurts to keep trying to improve. I think that by listening to others’ stories and talking about the challenges we face living with paralysis can make all the difference. Everyone’s story is unique and I’m always curious to learn how another person’s story has impacted his or her life.
