Why did you become a peer mentor? I had an incredible amount of professionals, family, and friends who attended to my every need during my entire recovery. Knowing how much I needed help and guidance to get through this life-changing event gave me the desire to search for opportunities to help others navigate the difficulties that lie ahead. Giving back. Not everyone can have the sheer amount of support that I had. Sharing our experiences, whether they be struggles or accomplishments… together is better.
